Time Repair Services has an established reputation
for high quality repair, servicing and restoration; watches
come from all over the UK and the US for rejuvenation. Much
of this reputation has been built on personal consultation
with clients, for example a case polish is part of a Rolex
service but many customers are proud of the embattled appearance
of their watches. Direct contact with the client allows requirements
to be discussed.

Proprietor Ray Brown learned watch making
with S G Manley of Ludgate Circus, London. Training was in
house with the trainees working on small clocks and strikers.
After 18 months Ray moved onto Elco (Time Products) and dealt
with watches that had been returned under guarantee. When
Elco moved to Oldham Ray joined the materials department at
Longines.

In 1973 Ray set up Time Repair Services and,
with the help of his apprentices, has since concentrated on
watches at the quality end of the market and antique timepieces.
Ray has completed the Rolex courses and is one of the few
horologists licensed to purchase genuine Rolex parts. The
well-equipped workshop, which has a separate area for cleaning,
polishing and glass grinding, is used to engineer unavailable
parts, especially those for antique timepieces.
