  • The cost of repairing a watch depends on the type of watch and the extent of the damage. For basic battery replacement, it may range from £10 to £50. More extensive repairs, such as fixing a broken crystal, movement repair, or water damage, can range from £100 to £500 or more, especially for luxury brands.

  • The repair time can vary based on the complexity of the issue and the availability of parts. Simple repairs like battery replacement or strap adjustment can take a few minutes to an hour. However, more complex repairs, such as movement servicing or water damage, can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks.

  • Most watches can be repaired, especially if the parts are available. However, some older or discontinued models may be harder to fix if specific parts are no longer in production. In rare cases, severe damage (like corrosion or a shattered movement) might make repairs uneconomical, but a skilled watchmaker can often still find solutions.

  • It is generally recommended to service a mechanical or automatic watch every 3 to 5 years to ensure optimal performance and prevent issues. Quartz watches need less frequent servicing but should still be checked for battery replacement and potential wear every 3 to 5 years. Regular servicing helps prevent costly repairs in the long run.

For many years, Time Repair Services has successfully provided a service and repair option via post. This is simple and effective, as it allows you to benefit from our specialist services, no matter where you're based. Our team suggest Royal Mail Special Delivery if you are based in the UK, while International Tracked Delivery should be used if you are overseas.
